Single Crystal Diffractometers
D8 Venture |
Our most powerful diffractometer is dual source with Cu and Mo microfocus X-ray sources and a 4-circle Kappa goniometer which is combined with the sensitive and fast CPAD detector for structure determination of a range of samples including organic and organometallic crystals or proteins, and very small or weakly diffracting crystals The fast data collection times also facilitate more advanced experiments including variable temperature or photoactivity studies. | ![]() |

Kappa Apex II |
Our twin Apex diffractometers are lovingly called "Left" and "Right". Both machines have a Mo-anode X-ray source, and a 4-circle Kappa goniometer which is combined with the sensitive and fast APEX II CCD detector for structure determination of mainly organometallic samples from the Inorganic section. | ![]() |
All three of our single crystal diffractometers are equipped with Oxford Cryosystems, allowing data collection between 90-400 K.
Powder Diffractometers
D8 Advance |
Equipped with an auto-changer this Powder XRD (X-ray Diffraction) machine can measure batches of up to 75 samples. We have a range of sample holders including low background for limited amounts of sample and bubble sample holders for mildly air sensitive samples. We can also measure thin films. A Phenix sample stage is also available enabling data collections between 12-300 K. | ![]() |
