Single Crystal Diffractometers
Microstar |
Our most powerful diffractometer has a Cu-anode X-ray source, generating intensities comparable to second-generation synchrotron beam lines. Better data quality and higher resolution are expected, with this diffractometer reserved for organic / protein samples, and small or weakly diffracting crystals. | ![]() |

Kappa Apex II |
Our two "twin" Apex diffractometers are lovingly called "Left" and "Right". Both machines have a Mo-anode X-ray source, and a 4-circle Kappa goniometer which is combined with the sensitive and fast APEX II CCD detector for structure determination of mainly organometallic samples from the Inorganic section. ![]() | ![]() |
All three of our single crystal diffractometers are equipped with Oxford Cryosystems, which can cool samples to 100 K for collection.
Powder Diffractometers
D8 Advance |
Equipped with an auto-changer this Powder XRD (X-ray Diffraction) machine can measure batches of up to 75 samples. ![]() | ![]() |
Nanostar |
The "SAXS" (Small-Angle X-ray Scattering) is used to analyse nanostructured materials. We can find out particle sizes and size distributions from 1 to 100 nm from the Nanostar, as well as shape and orientation distributions in liquid, powders and bulk samples. | ![]() |
